Legal Recruitment
It’s been a start like no other! KC ended 2019 on a high, having managed to secure key new hires and move into larger new luxury offices in the Heart of the City of London. Off the back of a record year, we started the new decade with lots of energy & positivity around our continued growth for 2020.
Our law firm clients matched this positivity and ambition. Shown by our highest number of Associate vacancy instructions in January on record!
This demand for legal talent was across a number of our loyal US, UK & Boutique Firms. Practice areas in London that have kept us busy are Finance (Real Estate, Structured, Leveraged) and Restructuring & Insolvency. Corporate has remained buoyant across Mergers & Acquisitions, Private Equity, and Venture Capital. After a very informative event at Reed Smith with the Forum for US Securities Lawyers in London, it is clear that Equity Capital Markets is on the rise for 2020. On the contentious side, we saw an increase in the number of commercial litigation instructions. Finally, Data Protection, Cyber Security & Employment remained well-subscribed areas.
Legally Speaking Podcast
The Legally Speaking Podcast launched in November 2019, designed to provide real-life insights into the legal industry. We wrapped up our first season in January 2020, covering a wide range of topics with appearances from Chairs of Legal Societies, Law Firm Partners, General Counsels, Associates, Legal Influencers and many more! We are still overwhelmed that the podcast has received such a huge level of interest and following so quickly. The fact remains, that there is a real thirst for knowledge and constant informative content in the ever-changing legal sector. With recordings well underway for Season 2, we are thoroughly looking forward to releasing the rest of our latest season of the Legally Speaking Podcast over the coming month! Diversity & Inclusion
We remain dedicated to our D&I initiatives and recently we proudly sponsored the Diversity in Law conference for International Students at The University of Law, Moorgate. We had a number of fantastic speakers from law firms including Reed Smith, Pinsent Masons, Gowling WLG and White & Case.
Events
Off the back of hosting a series of iconic legal events in 2019, with the highlights undoubtedly being our prestigious networking event at the Supreme Court with the London Young Lawyers Group (LYLG) and co-sponsoring the landmark 25th Annual Asian Legal Awards at the Royal Lancaster Hotel in London. We are delighted to announce that later this year we will be collaborating again with our friends at the LYLG! We are busy planning another landmark legal event for 2020. So do follow us on our social media channels for more news and updates on this – watch this space! As part of our collaboration with the Society of Asian Lawyers, our very own Deenum Gahbri, who was recently elected to sit on their committee, will be running their high profile International Women’s Day Event, which is just around the corner in March.
